Meet Dr. Anna Mcilwain

(pronounced “MAK-uhl-wayn”)

    • Durham, NC native

    • Clemson University (BA, 2015)

    • UNC Adams School of Dentistry (DDS, 2020 and MS in Prosthodontics, 2023)

    • Work experience in clinical academia and private practice

  • Conservative when it’s practical, and proactive when it’s “time”—guided by a patient’s personal goals, stage in life, and oral condition.

    • Treatment planning complex and/or multidisciplinary cases

    • Troubleshooting dental implants and prosthetics

    • Full-mouth reconstruction

    • All-on-X case planning, treatment, and troubleshooting

    • Restoration of congenitally missing and peg lateral incisors

    • Complete dentures, overdentures, & partial dentures

    • Management of terminal dentition.

    • Dr. Mcilwain met her husband, Austin, in college. They have three sons, ages 4, 2, and 1.

    • She played the sousaphone (marching tuba) for Clemson University Tiger Band.

    • She enjoys all things creative—painting, baking, sewing, photography, and figuring out how to keep her boys entertained!
